Research Paper: Effect of health education on Menstrual Hygiene and health seeking behavior among Rural and Urban Adolescents

Introduction: Health promotion programmes presume that providing knowledge about causes of ill health will go a long way
towards promoting a change in individual behaviour, towards more beneficial health-seeking behaviour. However, there is growling recognition that providing education and knowledge is not sufficient in itself to promote a change in behaviour. Hence, this
study sought to determine how health education could change the menstrual hygiene practices and health seeking behaviour of
rural and urban school-going adolescent girls in South-south Nigeria.
